Kinwell

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 August 2026

Kinwell helps families coordinate care for a relative. That means we hold information about people's health, so we keep as little as possible and share none of it. This page explains exactly what we store, who can reach it, and how to delete it.
Kinwell is not a medical device. It is a coordination tool. Never rely on it in an emergency — contact your local emergency services.

Who we are

Kinwell is operated by youcef bellatreche, based in the United Kingdom. For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights described below, contact support@kinwellapp.co.uk.

What we collect

DataWhy
First name and family role (e.g. "Daughter") So other members know who sent a check-in or completed a task
Check-in status and optional note The core purpose of the app
Medication names, doses, times, and whether taken today Shared medication tracking
Tasks and appointments, including who they are assigned to Care coordination
The name of the person being cared for To label the dashboard. This person need not use the app.
A device notification token To deliver alerts to your phone
Email address (if you sign in with email or with Google) So you keep access if you change device

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or browsing activity. The camera is used solely to scan a family QR code; images are never stored or transmitted.

We never see or store your password. Sign-in is handled entirely by Firebase Authentication.

Health information

Medication details and check-in statuses are health information and we treat them as sensitive. Under UK GDPR we process them on the basis of your explicit consent, given when you join a family. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

Who can see your data

Only members of your family. Membership is granted by sharing a Family ID or QR code.

Important: anyone holding your Family ID can join and see everything in that family, including medication records. Share it only with people you trust, and treat a screenshot of the QR code as you would a key.

Notifications are addressed to your family members' individual devices. They are not broadcast to any channel that an outsider could subscribe to.

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train machine-learning models. Kinwell contains no advertising.

Where your data is stored

Kinwell uses Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Messaging) as its processor. Data is stored in Google's European data centres. Google's handling of it is governed by the Firebase Privacy and Security terms.

How long we keep it

Deleting your account

In the app, open Settings (the gear icon on the dashboard), scroll to Privacy & data, and choose Delete my account. You will be asked to confirm twice. The deletion is immediate and cannot be reversed.

If you can no longer access the app, email support@kinwellapp.co.uk from the address linked to your account and we will delete it within 30 days.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or erase your personal data, and to object to its processing. Use the contact address above. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Kinwell is designed for adults coordinating care. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
